Resumen:
Un instalador del cable, llamado Ernie "Chip" Douglas, atiende a Steven Kovacs, que acaba de mudarse tras cortar con Robin, su novia. Durante la instalación en la nueva casa, Chip y Steven traban amistad. Al principio todo va bien, y Steven vuelve con Robin, pero Chip se toma la amistad muy en serio, convirtiéndose en un neurótico acosador.
